The warm mineral waters of the Centre Thermal hot springs, thermal baths, pools, and day spa in Yverdon-les-Bains on the southern shores of Lac de Neuchâtel are a short drive from Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
The Centre Thermal in Yverdon-les-Bains is a large mineral baths complex with a day spa area and fitness facilities. The full complex normally has three large pools, although during the current renovation only the two outdoor thermal pools are open. The large pools feature hot mineral-rich water, Jacuzzis, bubble baths, and jet streams. Spa wellness and beauty treatments are optional, as is a large gym. Yverdon-les-Bains is located on the southern shores of Lake Neuchâtel, only half an hour’s drive from Lausanne and Lac Léman. Guests of the adjoining four-star Grand Hotel & Centre Thermal enjoy free unlimited access to the hot-spring pools and wellness center.

Hot Mineral Pools in the Centre Thermal Spa in Yverdon-les-Bains
The Romans already enjoyed the hot water sources of Yverdon-les-Bains in ancient times, and since the Middle Ages, the mineral-rich waters here have been considered to have health benefits. Nowadays, most visitors simply come to relax in the warm water pools, but health, wellness, and beauty spa treatments are also available.
The full thermal complex has three large hot-water pools. The indoor swimming pool (currently closed) and one of the outdoor pools are heated up to 35°C (31°C in summer), while the thermal water of the second large fun outdoor pool is a still comfortable 33°C (31°C in summer). The main pools have various water features such as Jacuzzis (hot tubs), bubbles, jet streams, massage jets, and waterfalls to help massage muscle pain away.
The thermal pools at Yverdon-les-Bains are fed by a source discovered in 1982. Around 60 liters per second bubble to the surface at a temperature of 29°C. The mineral-rich waters have high concentrations of calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and sulfates.
Day Spa Facilities at Centre Thermal in Yverdon-les-Bains
Currently, most of the indoor facilities are closed for renovation. Only the fitness center (gym) and some private treatment rooms are open.
In addition to the warm pools, the Centre Thermal in Yverdon-les-Bains features all the day spa and wellness facilities common at thermal bath complexes in Switzerland. These include, amongst others, massages, beauty treatments, saunas, and steam baths (Hammam).
The indoor saunas and hammam are closed during the renovation period, but a new outdoor sauna and heated yurt are open.
The Centre Thermal also has a large gym with fitness training classes. Medical treatments are also available, especially physiotherapy treatment for recovery from sports injuries and rheumatism.
Opening Hours and Prices for the Centre Thermal in Yverdon
The Centre Thermal in Yverdon-les-Bains has long opening hours and is only closed on December 25. The pool complex is open daily from 8 am to 8:30 pm (7 pm on Sundays).
During the rebuilding period, with only the outdoor pools and a special sauna open, prices are reduced and valid for the full day. Adult admission is CHF22 in low season and CHF25 in high season. High-season rates apply on weekends, public holidays, and during autumn, winter, and spring school holidays. Admission for students is CHF23 (CHF19), and CHF17 (CHF16) for children aged 6 to 15. Children up to 5 years old enter free.
The fitness and wellness center is for adults only and requires an additional charge.

Transportation to the Centre Thermal in Yverdon-les-Bains
Getting to the hot springs spas in Yverdon-les-Bains is easy by car or public transportation. Yverdon-les-Bains is on the southern tip of Lake Neuchâtel with excellent highway and fast inter-city train connections to the rest of Switzerland.
The Centre Thermal is in the southern suburbs of Yverdon, very close to the Yverdon South exit of the autoroute A1. Driving times from Lausanne are around 30 minutes, while the city of Geneva and the Airport are only an hour’s drive away. Ample free parking is available directly at the spa.
From Yverdon train station, bus 604 reaches the ‘Les Bains’ stop in around five minutes. Alternatively, it is around a 1.5-km walk.
Yverdon-les-Bains is an interesting city to visit. It was once an important Roman center and its chateau houses an interesting local history museum (don’t miss the Roman barges in the basement). Also worth visiting is Chateau de Grandson, Switzerland’s second-largest castle, located just to the north of Yverdon on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel.
